Polar Adventure Day a blast…

Posted on 23 February 2008 by Dawn Keller

...and fortunately not an Arctic Blast. With temperatures in the low 30's I think it was 25 degrees warmer then the other 2 Polar Adventure Days. And what a difference it made. The Chicago Park District put on a great event, there were horse drawn carriages, ice sculpting, mad scientists, crafts and their famous hot chocolate. We had a huge crowd almost the whole time. We met a lot of great people and the kids had so many good questions. Thanks to Deborah and Julie for helping out. And thanks to the Park District for having us.

Our next event at Northerly Island is March 29 - We will put on a program called Secrets of Migration and will lead a bird walk on the beautiful island. Hope to see you there.

We will be at Polar Adventure Days Saturday from 12-4. Polar Adventure Days are sponsored by the Chicago Park District and held at Northerly Island. Northerly Island is the home of our downtown triage center. We will have several of our Birds of Prey on hand to visit with. Come meet our Red Tailed Hawk, Eastern Screech Owl, American Kestral and Great Horned Owl.

The event is free and there are plenty of activities for young and old alike.

We look forward to seeing you there.
